This is an exciting opportunity to join our Software Engineering Practice, to build and develop our front end capability.

Working alongside our Head of Software Engineering, building upon an existing front end capability, you will help us to develop a culture of best-practice. You will be an integral part of the team, responsible for leading, designing, developing and delivering software solutions whilst supporting and developing other members of the software team.

We are looking for someone who has an entrepreneurial approach, and is interested in working with our senior management team on business development opportunities.

Candidates should be open to working in different locations for different clients. Although most of our work is in London, candidates should be happy to travel as client needs dictate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Defining and delivering the front end development strategy

• Providing direction and influencing key stakeholders across our clients

• Developing and scaling our organisational structure to support new services and clients

• Assisting with business development opportunities, responding to client Invitations To Tender

• Developing high-quality software designs

• Identifying, prioritising and executing tasks in the software development lifecycle

• Directing the development of tools and applications through clean, efficient code

• Collaborating with internal teams and partners to fix and improve products

• Ensuring software development is up-to-date with latest technologies

Required Experience:

• Substantial experience of front end development

• Experienced in leading a team of engineers, helping develop their skills and defining career paths

• Ability to work with senior stakeholders and detailed technical specialists

• Excellent communication skills

• Experience of working with cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS, GCP is beneficial)

• Exceptional Software Development knowledge

• Applied knowledge of front end frameworks (Angular, React, other similar)

• Knowledge of selected front end technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS)

• Experience in unit testing frameworks (Karma, Jasmine or others) and exposure to TDD is beneficial

• Ability to communicate your design, both verbally and in written form

• Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude

• Ability to work independently and within a team

• Excellent organisational skills

Desirable Experience:

• Familiarity with Cloud platforms (ideally Azure, else AWS or GCP)

• Familiarity with Agile development, DevOps and CI/CD processes and tooling
