Solirius Consulting delivers technical consultancy and application delivery to our clients in order to solve real world problems and allow our clients to respond to an ever-changing technical landscape. We currently have over 250 consultants working with a variety of key clients from both the public and private sectors such as the Ministry of Justice, Department for Education, FCDOS, UEFA, International Olympic Committee and Mercedes Benz; with plans to increase our client base further in the near future.

The role

We are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect with excellent stakeholder communication skills to work on a critical project involving subsidy funding for gigabit broadband development with one of our major government clients.

You will work primarily on a grant management platform, but will also work with other solutions and data architects to design, assure and continuously improve the broader systems and portfolio of products and services used by the client to distribute and assure subsidy funding.

There are multiple stakeholder groups involved, including internal staff, senior leaders, 3rd party technologies suppliers, broadband suppliers and mobile network operators. So the ability to build strong working relationships, translate technical concepts into business language and identify the best solutions for business and user needs is vital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support development of a new grant management platform, ensuring integration with the client’s existing systems and platforms.

  • Collaborate closely with solution and data architects, and other technical and business stakeholders to ensure different technical domains remain aligned and working to identify and highlight re-use and other rationalisation opportunities across the portfolio.

  • Work with other architects and business stakeholders to develop a centralised knowledge base of the different products, systems and technical domains used by the client mapping capabilities to the Application Architecture, Information Model to the Data Architecture etc.

  • Provide strategic design assurance for individual initiatives, escalating and presenting options and designs to programme and other change governance boards where necessary.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Strong experience working in solution architecture gained within a large distributed systems environment

  • Broad knowledge of technology solutions, current trends and techniques

  • Experience of COTS package implementations including large packages and custom solution design

  • Strong sense of ownership, initiative and the ability to drive results

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that has competing and alternating priorities with a focus on delivery of final solutions on time and within budget
