Solirius Consulting delivers technical consultancy and application delivery to our clients in order to solve real world problems and allow our clients to respond to an ever-changing technical landscape. We currently have over 250 consultants working with a variety of key clients from both the public and private sectors such as the Ministry of Justice, Department for Education, FCDOS, UEFA, International Olympic Committee and Mercedes Benz; with plans to increase our client base further in the near future.

The role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Software Engineering Practice, to build and develop our DevOps capability.
Working with our Head of Software Engineering, and building upon our existing DevOps capability you will help us to develop a culture of DevOps best-practice, define the DevOps services we offer to our clients and grow the size of our DevOps team.
The role requires an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer who has a background in consultancy and has the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders and clients to further develop our DevOps propositions, taking ownership of the strategy and growth and training of the team.
We are looking for someone who has an entrepreneurial approach, and is interested in working with our senior management team on business development opportunities.

Candidates should be open to working in different locations for different clients. Although most of our work is in London, candidates should be happy to travel as client needs dictate.
Key Responsibilities:
Defining and delivering the DevOps strategy
Advocating and evangelising DevOps capabilities, providing direction and influencing key stakeholders across our clients
Develop compelling services for our clients
Developing and scaling our organisational structure to support new services and clients
Assisting with business development opportunities, responding to client Invitations To Tender
Defining standards and patterns for DevOps capabilities and associated tooling
Establishing and directing a nascent DevOps team that works across clients
Implementing and managing continuous delivery systems and methodologies across cloud environments like Azure, AWS and GCP
Implementing and managing solutions to deploy and maintain highly available and scalable services and applications.
Key Skills/Experience:
Substantial experience of DevOps
Experienced in leading a team of engineers, helping develop their skills and defining career paths
Ability to work with senior stakeholders and detailed technical specialists.
Excellent communication skills
Experience of working with cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS, GCP is beneficial)
Experience of working with Microsoft, AWS or open source DevOps tooling
Experience of developing, deploying and managing applications and infrastructure in the cloud (on premise is beneficial)
Experience of implementing full and partial CI/CD processes including automation, configuration management and infrastructure as code
Experience of monitoring and alerting for applications and services deployed to cloud or on-premise environments, including knowledge of associated applications (e.g. AppDynamics, DynaTrace, Splunk, etc.)
Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes in either Azure or AWS
Knowledge of unix or Windows based operating systems, including scripting languages.
Knowledge of best practices surrounding cloud infrastructure
Passionate, motivated and enthusiastic about developing technology solutions for our clients.
